Intrigued by the title "The role of the logistics & delivery industry in e-commerce”, I joined the Clubhouse session moderated by one of my favorite industry players: Hussein Wehbe.
The insightful talk revealed a few key pieces of wisdom. If you have an e-commerce platform idea, keep the following in mind as you start your journey:
• Before you take any step, seek the advice of industry players. Commit time to research the industry you are about to enter, and connect with its most reputable players.
• Do not fall for the trap of signing an agreement with the cheapest delivery service provider. Be wary of cheap prices because they will prove to be more costly to your finances and reputation on the long run. Do not risk endangering your customers’ journey and your business's continuity!
• Map out the costs of your online store and be wary of all hidden fees and expenses. After all, an e-commerce platform is not just a Facebook shop, an Instagram store, or a Wix website.
• Delivery, handling, and return logistics are as important as the product offering itself. These can make or break a great customer experience.
