How to start up a business? A question has become so common that we get asked every single day. Are there new opportunities in the market that people started to recognize? Or are they thinking that it is safer to start a new business with all the economic turbulence around us? Whatever the motive or the drive is, it is worth remembering that "all established brands and successful businesses have one thing in common — they all started somewhere! And HOW they started paved the way to where they are right now” - Launch DXB.
So, how shall we start? Here is what Mazen Sakran - Founder & CEO of Customex Solutions, an established entrepreneur and one of my favorite speakers, shared with us last week during an entrepreneurial talk with Launch DXB.
Looking around us, we can easily realize that not everyone is a natural born entrepreneur. Yet, no body can determine that except you! While searching for the answer, ask yourself: Do I really want to become an entrepreneur? Am I ready to leave the corporate world? Am I able to lead? Am I able to handle stress? Am I able at handle cashflow? Can I silence all the doubters around and within me and move forward? Can I encourage and appreciate honest advice? Do I listen twice as much as I speak? Do I have the willpower, the personality, and the knowledge to become an entrepreneur?
Once you discover yourself, start developing that business idea you have in mind into a powerful presence. How? Keep it simple; instead of trying to perfect it, just start with it. Solve a problem; do not start with just selling, make sure you are adding value and filling a need in the market. Find and target the right niche, start with them and then grow. Research and be extremely curious. Know your competition. Plan and figure out your strategies from marketing, to business and financial ones. Map out your financials.
Throughout the whole journey, always keep in mind that what worked for one entrepreneur, and made them succeed, might not work for you and your business. Hence, whatever industry or space you aspire to operate in, always create YOUR own formula. How to build that formula? Well, you have to start with proper planning in order to launch the business. Then, you just have got to go for it and start implementing. You need to obsess over your idea and give it your all. Meanwhile, never forget to be fluid and adaptive to new learnings. Whatever you hear or learn, take it in, absorb it, and check if it applies to your industry and act on it if it does. Lastly, worry will play a great role throughout your journey. No matter how hard the venture might sound, feel or look, do not quit! Only strong willpower will bring your idea to life and make it succeed!
