Well, ask yourself:
. Do I keep on thinking about that startup idea I have in mind?
. Am I really solving a problem, meeting a need or fulfilling a gap in the market through this business idea?
. Does this problem/need/gap keep on showing up in my life and the lives of my targeted audience or prospect customers?
. Will I be offering a solution? It is a solution that not only my mother and close friends told me was brilliant?
. Do people, ones outside my inner circle, want what I plan to offer?
. Did my research suggest this business idea was worth pursuing?
. Is this idea feasible and affordable to pursue?
. Will I have a profitable (one that generates money and profit), sustainable (one that lasts for years to come) and scalable (one that you can grow with and enter new markets) business once you launch the operations?
. Will this business bring me self-satisfaction and motivation like no other?
. Am I willing to give all it takes to bring this idea to life and make it succeed?
If you answered 'yes' to most of these questions then, I would say follow your heart and go after that business idea! By the way, I am more than happy to talk with you about it and share some thoughts to bring it to life.
If you answered 'no' to most of these questions then, give it some time. It might be that your idea is not well-developed yet, or that there is no product-market fit (your offering does not really meet the market’s needs), or that you are not ready for it! By the way, you can always work on improving skills that would be useful for startups, start another side project, or work at a startup!
Either way, entrepreneurship is a leap off a cliff into unknown waters! My journey was like that at least. It is a step scary and hard to take, but once you trust yourself and take the leap, the adrenaline in your body, the happiness in your heart, the motivation in your mind, and the remembrance in your memory will make it one of your greatest accomplishments. With it all, you will grow, your startup will grow, and you will become more knowledgable!
So, is entrepreneurship for YOU?
