Who am I?

For long, I had a special place for startups in my heart. Little did I know that this will become a preoccupying passion with Launch DXB. Welcome to my website, I am Diala J. Daoud, co-founder of Launch DXB and a startup enthusiast, just like you!

Six years back, I started my startup journey in Lebanon, when I entered the ecosystem as an ecosystem player, and not as a startup. I worked there for five years starting from a pre-incubator at the American University of Beirut called the Center for Research & Innovation, to taking on a project with UNICEF and INJAZ Lebanon - a local NGO, and then moving to a global accelerator for social good called the Hult Prize. Throughout these years, I had the chance to sit with 150+ startup teams, ideate with them, develop outreach and marketing plans, advise business development initiatives and suggest activations. I learned a lot from every single team I got to sit with! 

Five years forward, I wanted to move to Dubai and join my husband here. First thing that came up to my mind was taking part in the startup community and exploring available opportunities. I found a gap in the ecosystem, I wanted to help fill it up. Building up on my expertise in the Lebanese ecosystem, I co-founded Launch DXB.

Launch DXB is a launchpad for startups, it is a platform that fosters a collaborative culture among aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage and growing startups, SMEs and independent professionals. We connect them with skills, talents, knowledge, solutions and growth resources through establishing collaborations and exchanging resources with key local and regional ecosystem players, government entities and support initiatives. In less than a year, we hosted 15 #LaunchDays, inviting leading speakers and entrepreneurs to take part in our activations and partnering up with almost all active local ecosystem players along with regional ones.

To date, with Launch DXB and before it, I organized and/or spoke at 150+ events and workshops.
